Now that the software is installed, we must point Windows to them so CMake doesn't throw "Red Errors."

  • Open Start Menu > Search "Edit the system environment variables".

  • Click Environment Variables.

  • Under System Variables, click New and add these three:

    • BOOST_ROOT = C:/local/boost_1_83_0 (Use forward slashes /).
      Use your version!

    • MYSQL_ROOT = C:/Program Files/MySQL/MySQL Server 8.x.
      Use your version!

    • OPENSSL_ROOT_DIR = C:/OpenSSL-Win64.

  • Verification: Close and restart CMake if it was open.
